Overview
WatchOS 7, alongside iOS 14 beta and other major software releases previewed in WWDC 2020, will be significant this year. It will of course supposedly drop support for both Series 1 and Series 2. However, it will revolutionize the whole system OS, where we could be seeing a lot of new features introduced. Not to forget, a lot of battery life improvements are also coming your way.
That is why in this article, we wanted to preview to you the most important features included and give you an insight into the official release date for watchOS 7 Developer Beta 1. Without further ado, let’s just dive right into it!
WatchOS 7 – Leaks!
Sleep Tracking Leak – Explained
Starting off with the first feature implemented into WatchOS 7: Sleep Tracking. This will be really important for those of you who wear your Apple watch whilst you’re asleep. There are third-party apps supported on the App Store where you can install sleep tracking. This way you can actually monitor your sleep. Whether you’re deep sleeping the quality of sleep is monitored.
Apple actually did have this in the code for watchOS 6 and it was supposed to be implemented. However, because of slight miscommunication and problems, this was added on to watch OS 7.
iOS 14 Beta Leak – Monitoring Oxygen Levels
The next feature was actually found in the iOS 14 codes so more iOS 14 beta leaks for you. Monitoring the oxygen level is really important because it can help save lives. It can provide vital information to doctors to help them determine what’s best for your body.
Medical ID Changes – IOS 13.5
Due to the medical ID changes in iOS 13.5, monitoring oxygen levels will be more improved now. There is no confirmation regarding whether this will be just for the Apple Watch Series 6. As of yet, you can’t see a lot of changes implemented because in the Health App you can just see that it calculates your health rate and of course calculates your resting heart rate.
Customizable Wallpapers!
There will also be more customizable wallpapers in watchOS 7. This means that you can actually go into the Photos app and customize it yourself. Having Apple Watch Faces would be basically taking the route of iPhones because iPhones have already had their own wallpapers. It would be great if Apple made a change to that making room for customization.
NEW Fitness App – WatchOS 7
Fitness App this year will also be seeing a lot of changes. There will be more customization options. Considering that most of us are stuck inside our homes, fitness is very important and will be very beneficial for the betas in the coming few weeks.
The Kids Mode will be implemented for parents wanting their children to be more active than they normally are. This will be accompanied by motivating factors that may include more achievements unlocked maybe more specific achievements for kids.
Release Date!
Moving on to the official release date for watchOS 7 developer beta. Now, this will be really important because it will be a whole new build which is going to be much better for you. Also, it will be beneficial for your device depending on what device you own. The date is set to be 22nd of June as you can say it is the same beta as iOS 14.
