If we are to suggest an аffоrdаble lарtор fоr business buyers, then we’d definitely recommend Lenovo ThinkРаd E490 (stаrts аt $656; $981 аs tested). It hаs the sаme exteriоr design аs its рredeсessоr, but it hаs Intel’s lаtest “Whiskey Lаke” 8th Generаtiоn рrосessоrs аs а соmроnent uрgrаde. The metаl-аnd-рlаstiс сhаssis рrоvides the neсessаry rоbustness fоr dаy-tо-dаy use, but the bulky deviсe is better suited tо оffiсe wоrkers thаn frequent fliers whо sрend mоre time оn the rоаd thаn in the оffiсe. The ThinkРаd E490 mаy аррeаr the sаme аs the ThinkРаd E480 frоm lаst yeаr, but the twо mоdels sоund very differently—the E480’s frequent fаn nоise is рleаsаntly аbsent оn the neаr-silent, сооl-running E490. Businesses on a tight budget will want to have a look at this one.

Performance

  • With 30 Google Chrome tabs open and five 1080p YouTube videos playing, the ThinkPad E490, which is powered by an Intel Core i5-8265U processor and 8GB of RAM, noticed a small slowdown.
  • The ThinkPad E490 scored 12,644 on the Geekbench 4.1 overall performance test, falling short of the premium laptop average of 13,080. The Core i5-8250U (12,744) in the Surface Laptop 2 outperformed the average, whereas the Core i5-8250U (13,173) in the ThinkPad X1 Carbon outperformed the average.
  • PWM (pulse-width modulation) is a simple method of controlling monitor brightness. When you lower the brightness, the backlight’s light intensity is not reduced; instead, the electronics switch off and on at a frequency inaudible to the human eye. The light/no-light time ratio varies in these light impulses, while brightness remains constant, which is detrimental to your eyes.

Price

Lenovo Thinkpad E90 Price is something you should try. However, when compared to other brands, it is relatively affordable. It is available for less than $1300 to the customer. The Lenovo Thinkpad E90 is priced at 117500Rs in Pakistan. This device is available at a discounted price on Amazon, eBay, and Alibaba.

Why Should you buy Lenovo Thinkpad E490?

The Lenovo ThinkPad E490 is nothing ordinary, with all of the essential elements that make a ThinkPad but none of the extras. It boasts an all-black design, a sturdy frame, a nice keyboard, and, of course, a TrackPoint.

When purchasing this, you should keep in mind that it is rather basic. It, as I already stated, sheds everything else. There is no Thunderbolt 3 or mechanical docking here. It also includes a USB 2.0 port, which I despise.

The E490’s biggest feature, though, is that it’s an excellent PC to provide to staff. If you’re the manager of a firm that needs to acquire a dozen PCs, for example, spending over a thousand dollars on each machine may be excessive. The ThinkPad E490 will undoubtedly perform admirably.

It also passes 12 MIL-STD-810G tests, indicating that it is of good build quality. This means fewer computer failures and lower repair costs.

With its Core i3 configuration, the base model is obviously not going to cut it. You might want to consider upgrading to a Core i5 processor and a Full HD display.

Bottom Line

If you want a wonderful keyboard, good performance, and long battery life, the Lenovo ThinkPad E490 is a good pick. However, be mindful of its drab display, tinny speakers, and shaky touchpad.

If you’re willing to spend a little more, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon, which has identical characteristics and can be configured for $1,225, is a good option (the difference being a 256GB SSD). It offers a longer battery life, a smaller footprint, and better performance than the previous model.

The ThinkPad E490 is a terrible business laptop in general, but it will do the job for a reasonable price.
